Activity: IPLS Executive Director took part in the execution of the project. IPLS contributed to the finding ways and means to devise new strategies to strengthen GoB efforts for procuring commodities form abroad to combating and containment of Avian Influenza (AI) out breaks in Bangladesh. Besides, measures were taken to strengthening supply chain and distribution of AI commodities through DLS to prevent AI infection in poultry sector.

IPLS executive director has Procured AI commodities such as virkon, Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) kits, protecting gears, equipment, reagents, furniture and storage equipment for the project. He also contributed to renovate Animal Health drugstores in 17 districts in the country.

Outcome: The venture was taken to combating and containment of AI out breaks and for developing bio-security measures in live birds markets. The venture brought quick responses to AI outbreaks and successfully reduced the rate of AI out breaks in the country and improved bio security measures in live birds markets in seven divisional headquarters.
